Levels of Responsibilities
This course and the accompanying workbook provide participants with information that should guide them into a discussion and understanding of their individual roles in creating a recovery enhancing environment. This section will also provide a definition of a recovery enhancing environment and the importance of this strategy in treatment.
Section 3 includes the Recovery Policy which every professional working within the Detroit-Wayne County Community Mental Health system should become familiar.
Personalizing the Recovery Principles
In this section, participants will learn more information regarding each principle that helps to personalize the treatment within the environment. Certain principles covered in this section are People-Driven, Respect, Holistic, and Pathways principles.
Recovery Policy
In the final section of this course, participants will be provided with an overview of the Recovery Policy provided by the Detroit-Wayne County Community Mental Health system. Participants should use this course to become familiar with this policy and ensure that it is upheld in their practice.
Sandra Peppers
Sandra Peppers’ employment has spanned 40 years in state, county and private business. Since her retirement, Mrs. Peppers has served as the Director of Special Projects for the Detroit Wayne Mental Health Authority, most recently focusing upon the compliance of mental health residential provider systems with the new Medicaid Final Rule. Previously, she served the Authority in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer and prior to that, served for eighteen months as the lead administrative officer while an Executive Director was being recruited.
