The goal of this course is to understand implicit bias and how it impacts our work in the behavioral health field and in our professional lives. Understanding bias, microaggressions, intergroup anxiety, and related human behaviors can make a large impact when it comes to making connections and achieving outcomes in the field. Every human being possesses bias in some form and we all have a responsibility to unpack it in order to be authentic in the field of mental health service. Leaving bias unchecked negatively impacts outcomes for the people we serve and the workplace overall.

Stephanie Lange

Stephanie is a high energy professional with a wide range of clinical, supervisory, training, and consulting experience spanning over 25 years. She has a strong track record of working effectively in multi-disciplinary teams, as well as independently, to propel organizations toward their vision. She worked for Macomb County Community Mental Health for 15 years where she implemented Evidence Based Practices, managed grant projects, taught Youth Mental Health First Aid,  Seeking Safety/Trauma program implementation and sustainability, and more.  Her longest position has been 24 years with Chippewa Valley Schools implementing At-Risk Youth programming.
