This introductory course provides an overview of the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) model. Video participants explain the ACT from multiple perspectives of consumers, ACT team leaders, case managers, nurses, peers and psychiatrists and highlights the critical elements of this well-researched evidence-based practice.

Defining Assertive Community Treatment

The participants of this course will be provided with the building blocks of what Assertive Community Treatment is and how it pertains to their practice.

This course has been designed to provide Psychiatrists, Nurses, and Physician Assistants with the building blocks of Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) in the framework of the specific professions. 

The ACT Model

This course will outline the Assertive Community Treatment Model and provide an overview of the importance of communication in ACT and how that pertains to the specific BHP roles. 

When treatment is provided consistently by a well-functioning team, treatment outcomes are better and hospitalizations are reduced.
