Welcome to the FPE video course on Schizophrenia.  This course consists of three videos, each with an accompanying quiz, and a final exam.  By watching each video, and taking each corresponding quiz, you'll be learning modern technique and showing us your mastery of the topic.

Connecting Biology to Schizophrenia. 

This course has been designed to provide Behavioral Health Professionals with an in-depth understanding of how biology connects to mood disorders. This course will specifically target schizophrenia in clients and provide a background into why some of your clients attribute the symptoms and behaviors they do. 

Communicating the Potential Causes and Symptoms.

The course experts that designed this specific course want to stress to direct care workers that you are not alone in the support of your clients. This course will provide evidence-based best practices for communicating with your clients' support systems the potential causes and symptoms they should be aware of in regards to schizophrenia.

Triggers to Be Aware of.

In using your larger support network, certain triggers with your clients will arise that are important to be aware of. This course will provide examples of common pitfalls that you may face when working with clients and their extended support system. 

Using Your Support System.

The course experts provide tips on extending the support of your clients receive by embracing the family psychoeducation model. By clearly communicating the treatment plans to your clients at home support network, you build a team that extends past what you, as a direct care worker, can do alone. 

You may also benefit from Person-Centered Planning or the Motivational Interviewing modules.
