This course will define the basics of pain, the current state of affairs in pain management, and discuss how we can begin to address issues of pain as healthcare professionals. This would be appropriate for NBCC.
Basics of Pain Management
This course will discuss the basics of pain as it pertains to the common cohorts of clients seen by behavioral health professionals in the state of Michigan. This course will provide participants with a definition of pain and allow them to clearly communicate the current theories and evidence-based research surrounding pain management.
Pain and the Body
Unlike the previous introductory course, this course dives deeper into the biological effect pain has on the client's body. This course will provide information to better explain and help participants understand how various types of pain reveal themselves and negatively affect clients throughout their lives.
Treatment Plans for Pain Management
Participants of this course will leave this course able to list and communicate various ways to treat pain. This course will also help behavior health professionals to identify potential barriers and resistance to effective pain management.
