This course will guide the participant through the planning process pivotal to prevention success.  Planning increases the effectiveness of prevention efforts by focusing energy, ensuring that staff and other stakeholders are working toward the same goals, and providing the means for assessing and adjusting programmatic direction, as needed.

The Importance of Planning in the Strategic Prevention Framework

This course is the final installment in the Strategic Prevention Framework series. This course provides insight into the importance of planning, and writing, the strategic plan for the target communities. 

Models and Strategies for Planning

Participants of this course will learn additional models and strategies for creating a successful strategic prevention plan. These include the previously discussed logic model, action planning, environmental strategies, and cultural competence strategies and tactics. 

Evidence-based Selection and Implementation

This course will also cover the evidence-based selection of best practices and additional implementation tactics. This course will also cover the most important aspect of planning and implementation in the "monitoring" section.
