Definition:

Usually located within an addiction treatment center, the program is comprised of medical, clinical, nutritional, and education services all focused on the addict or alcoholic achieving and maintaining long term abstinence from drugs, alcohol, or other addictive substances.

To receive treatment in Michigan, a consumer must contact the Access Management System and be referred to appropriate services. The current AMS for all counties in the State of Michigan can be found on the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) website here.
