Definition:

Organizations established by law that are responsible for the performance of administrative functions and assuring compliance with federal and state mandates and guidelines for the division of SUD and mental health services. Additional responsibilities include assessing the substance abuse and mental health service needs within their region, establishing a panel of providers to address these needs, and monitoring provider contract compliance.
