Definition:
GHB (gamma hydroxybutyrate) is a depressant, which means it slows down the messages traveling between the brain and the body. GHB is also referred to as "The Date Rape Drug" as it has been used by perpetrators of sexual assault to render their victims unconscious when slipped unknowingly into a drink. GHB is also used as a popular club drug, like ecstasy.
