Definition:

Any mechanism by which treatment addictions treatment for co-occurring disorders (COD) are combined within the context of a primary treatment relationship or service setting. It recognizes the need for a unified treatment approach to meet the substance abuse, mental health, and related needs of a client, and is the preferred model of treatment.
