Naltrexone (Vivitrol) is is an antagonist that is used to treat opioid and alcohol use disorder. It works by blocking opioid drugs, such as heroin and fentanyl, from attaching to opioid receptors in the brain. This drug is often used as part of Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
